DAI Boutique Wexford

The Dai woman is defined by herself alone.

At Dai we aim to help you affirm your individuality. Our mission is to rejuvenate your shopping experience; to offer difference and to create an alternative to the high street while still maintaining their competitive price range.

Conveniently located Wexfords Main Street, Dai is a spacious treasure trove of all things stylish. Expanding over two floors and housing our seasonal fashion shows, Dai is truly different than the average petite boutique.

Open for over three years our boutique has developed and adjusted to embrace our growing client base. We have worked hard to source reasonably priced labels to protect our desire for style in the current economic climate. Happily we now provide such an extensive range of brands and price that both mothers and daughters can shop comfortably together. We also provide after hours shopping and deposit facilities to ensure you get what you love, how you want it and when you want it.

Our team of ladies each with their own signature style contribute to the bedroom closet laissez faire attitude of the shop and encourage you to ‘try, try, try’ until you are satisfied that your outfit has ‘you’ stamped all over it.

Please feel free to call in or even have a sneak peek at our Facebook page where we upload our new arrivals, special offers and posts on any upcoming events taking place. Our most enjoyable events include our in house fashion show which offers lots of styling ideas while you sit back and enjoy refreshments and perhaps a tipple or two! All for free!

Embrace your uniqueness and beauty. Shop at Dai.

Nickys Ragtales......

I missed London Fashion Week and had to forgo several invites to some great catwalk shows. The tickets are like Hens teeth and as I sat at home or in the showroom either asleep or slumped over my desk I tried hard not to think about what I was missing and tried not to sneeze over customers as I carried on selling. The great thing is that I was able to watch several of the shows live from my couch such is the miracle of the internet. Within minutes of watching I was able to post them on nickysragtales.com which means that everyone can watch and comment.

I’ve been blogging now for a year and a half and have built up a lovely group of followers, these are people that I sometimes meet and who tell me they enjoy my posts and my occasional off beat humour. Today I had a call from someone from the Christian Loubouton company who wants to meet with me as they have recently opened in Dublin’s Brown Thomas and I’m guessing they may want me to write a piece about the them. This has made me think. Do I write just because I’m flattered to be asked? Do I write for money or a gift? The answer to both of those questions is a very definite NO. I made certain rules for myself when I started the blog and they are very simple. I only write about things I like (or don’t like) and speak my mind. I don’t accept money or gifts before writing and I certainly don’t ask for anything. Sometimes I do get gifts but they are always a surprise and not necessary. A thank you is all that is required. I love the fact that it’s my blog and I can do what I want with it. I am though starting to think about how I can monetize the blog in a way that will not compromise my ethics in any way. I would like to cover my costs at least and will perhaps consider advertising but only of products or businesses that I endorse. I think it’s time I called my Internet tech friend Rob from Lady Umbrella or tech guru Krishna De for some advice on how to go forward.

Have a fashionable week ahead……

There’s only a week and a half left until the UK’s biggest buying dates. From 13 – 15 February, Pure London in Olympia and Pure Spirit in Earls Court are bringing more brands, catwalks, seminars and features than ever. With so much on offer, and with free shuttle buses running between the two venues every few minutes, make sure to plan in at least two days to your diary to take it all in.

Registering for your free tickets to attend both shows is quick and easy at http://www.exporeg.co.uk/visit/sites/emap/pure/feb11/vis/reg.asp?PC=ebuzz – and you’ll save yourself £20 on the door.

Here’s how we recommend starting off the show to make the most of it.

On Day 1, head to Earls Court for Pure Spirit, kicking off your day at the buyers’ survival breakfast. Here you can enjoy a tasty complimentary breakfast of bacon baguettes, pastries, tea and coffee. Plus, catch a glimpse of Olly Murs on stage; pick up a free event guide and bespoke Spirit shopper bag; and take advantage of a number of exclusive offers from media partners RWD and Drapers.

At 11am, experience the Next Generation designers and Best of British brands on the catwalk at Earls Court, before heading to Pure London for midday to see leading trend forecaster, WGSN, translate their exclusive insights into a live catwalk.

Pure is your oyster, and to sum up, there’ll be:

1,100+ brands showing across the two venues

Contemporary and high-end brands exclusive to Pure London including DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, Stefanel, Nougat, Winter Kate, Fenn Wright Manson, Tatty Devine Jewellery, Veja and Bernstock Speirs

Celebrities and industry leaders – confirmed so far are Mark Heyes from Daybreak (formerly GMTV), Jessica Brown from Drapers, Eric Musgrave from UKFT, Katie Price, Olly Murs and Zandra Rhodes

Jane Davidson Boutique

www.janedavidson.co.uk

Jane Davidson is a family run business, founded in 1969 in the Grassmarket area of Edinburgh by Jane Davidson. The boutique is now run by Sarah Murray, her daughter, and is based in a Georgian townhouse in Thistle Street, discreetly located in Edinburgh’s elegant New Town and in the thick of the upmarket shopping area. The store has grown steadily since it opened on the ground floor of its current site and has expanded over 4 floors in the last 15 years. In July 2008 Jane Davidson launched their first transactional website. Unlike online only boutiques, there is a well established store behind the site. All purchases are carefully handpicked, wrapped and sent from the boutique. Same day deliveries are available within the Edinburgh area and, most importantly, the sales team are available within business hours to offer advice and answer queries by phone or email.

The boutique in Thistle Street, Edinburgh, showcases a tempting assortment of international designer brands. Favourites include Diane von Furstenberg, Missoni, Moncler and Armani Collezioni. Brands which perform most successfully instore are those that are ageless, that can be worn by a 17 year old or a 70 year old. Brand exclusives in Scotland include Herve Leger, Jenny Packham, Nicole Miller, Lela Rose and Collette Dinnigan. An impressive selection of denim labels including J Brand, Mih and Joe’s jeans sit alongside more casual brands such as Oakwoodleathers, Goat and Queene & Belle cashmere. Knitwear features strongly on the ground floor, from Cameron Taylor,Madeleine Thompson and Lamberto Losani. On the upper floor Oscar style eveningwear dominates, with brands including Jenny Packham and Collette Dinnigan. New brands for Spring/Summer 2010 include Halston Heritage, Valentino Red and Bruuns Bazaar.

The philosophy behind the store is very much centred around exceptional customer service and a relaxed atmosphere. In winter there is a real fire on the ground floor and on entering the store you will be offered a coffee or a herbal tea. The sales team of nine vary in age from 18 to in their 60’s, each with their own unique style and personality. They will encourage you to try things you would never normally have dreamt of. Customer purchases are all carefully logged so that our clients get the most from their wardrobes each year. Information on career, family and social circles is also stored so that our sales team can avoid offering a similar outfit for the same function. Regular instore events, ranging from trunk shows to jeans fitting weekends, are held monthly. A Christmas runway show is even held for the partners and husbands of clients, to assist in their gift shopping.
