From The Blogs

Weekly roundup of all the news and views in the British fashion and beauty blogs!!!

This outfit totally depicts my state my mind with regards to the weather. The Sun has gone into hiding but I am struggling to say goodbye. The light print silk dress and sheer pants were my unconscious quest to hold on to the last remnants on the English summer. The sheer pants were discovered in a thrift shop for £4. They work in a variety of guises.

Marc Jacobs Creating 'plus size' Range

Marc Jacobs has become the first major fashion house to announce its making a collection in sizes above a UK 14.

Although the project is a while off the president of the designer label confirmed on Twitter "we are in the very beginning stages of talking to a partner about plus sizes", meaning women size 16 and above will no longer feel so ignored by high end fashion.

Summer in New York is full of young women in long print dresses. Too often though the dresses are bland, overly basic and usually carrying a cheap looking print. Sometimes they seem like the modern version of the thoughtless housedress.

Silk Harems on Mortgage Night

We met with a mortgage advisor last night. Turns out, if we’re ever going to get onto the property ladder, Katie’s going to have to stop blowing all of our pennies on tights and I’m going to have to switch to a less premium gin.
